Convention Overview

What happens at the Convention?

SUNDAY: The convention starts on Sunday evening November 9th. Convention registration, vendors' rooms and a wonderful hospitality room will be open at approximately 5:00 p.m. Late evening activities include unofficial balloon jams nightly at the Sidewalk Café.

MONDAY: The classes start at 8:00 a.m. on Monday morning. Convention registration will again be open at 7:00 a.m. for those who did not register on Sunday. Classes will go all day Monday ending with a vendors' show that evening.

TUESDAY: C lasses will continue all day. This is balloon day so there will be at least one balloon twisters class during each session. Other classes are available for those who are not interested in twisting balloons. That evening will be our Theme Party – “Pirates.”

WEDNESDAY: Make-up competition is in the morning. There will also be classes in the morning for those who don't choose to participate or view the competition. Skit competition will be in the afternoon (no classes). A professional photographer will be available to take professional photos from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Just a little later, face painting competition will be held. At 4:30 p.m. we are co-sponsoring a "Hobo Stew" for the American Heart Association. All clowns in costume will be admitted free. After Hobo Stew there will be an open mic for non-competitive skits and schtick.

THURSDAY: Paradeability competition is in the morning. We try to get school children bussed in for this event. Balloon competition will be held after lunch. At 3:00 p.m. we will have our general meeting, which includes election of officers.

We end the convention with an Awards Banquet Thursday evening.

Plan to travel home on Friday. If you register by mail before the convention more information will be provided to you in our newsletter, the "Klown Klatter." We hope that this will help answer some of your questions.
